On Saturday, February 6, 2021 we will host the 3rd Annual Powerful Learners Conference as a virtual event, focused on how we can reenergize, reconnect and refresh as educators to keep students feeling safe and supported in this most unusual time. Together, we will build capacity in our schools and community spaces for honoring the unique needs and gifts of our students, setting the stage for them to thrive and break cycles of structural inequity.

Erin Willard

Gateway Public Schools

Molly and Erin are Humanities teachers at Gateway High School where they were beginning teachers together, working on the same 10th and 12th grade teams. Over the last 14 years, Erin and Molly have gone on to teach different subjects and work with different teams, but have maintained an unofficial collaboration about everything from parenthood to critical consciousness. They share a belief that literature and teaching build critical empathy, and that story can be the foundation for deep learning at all levels. Molly is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Stanford Teacher's Education Program. Erin is a graduate of the University of Virginia and The University of Pennsylvania. In their spare time, when not parenting or sheltering-in-place, they like to see plays together.
