On Saturday, February 6, 2021 we will host the 3rd Annual Powerful Learners Conference as a virtual event, focused on how we can reenergize, reconnect and refresh as educators to keep students feeling safe and supported in this most unusual time. Together, we will build capacity in our schools and community spaces for honoring the unique needs and gifts of our students, setting the stage for them to thrive and break cycles of structural inequity.

Sarah Nielsen is a fourth year middle school math teacher. She currently teaches in Sunnyvale, CA but prior to that, she taught 7th grade math and science at Gateway Middle School for two years under the excellent guidance of Therese Arsenault as her coach. She believes that relationships are the basis for great teaching and is always looking for ways to increase student engagement and autonomy in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Sarah is a runner, soccer player, and during COVID has been experimenting with weight lifting!
